Motitations

Motitations are short affirmation-like audios that contain life empowering concepts you listen to and REFLECT upon.

Their purpose is to, through repetition, MOTIVATE you to make positive change in your life.

Reflection on the meaning of the message requires you to focus your mental attention onto it which is a form of MEDITATION.

So a Motitation is a MOTIvating mediTATION.

A deeper definition would be…

Motitations are based on the concept of the automatic mind.

From the moment of birth, we begin gathering information through our senses and storing it in what many philosophical traditions refer to as the subconscious mind.

Neuroscience describes this mind as the automatic neural network made up of brain systems like the basal ganglia, the default mode network, and the posterior cortex allowing us to act in and interpret the world efficiently without active effort.

I call it the automatic mind although it’s actually much more complex than the neuroscience version.

Metaphorically speaking, one of the roles of the automatic mind is that it functions like a computer executing lines of code, such as memories, thoughts, and associations, outside conscious awareness, influencing behavior, generating meaning, evoking emotion, and shaping the lens through which reality is perceived.

Most of the time this runs below our awareness, driving our automatic actions, encouraging our habits and reinforcing our biases.

It’s what you use to describe to yourself who you are, what you are, where you are and why you are.

Without these “mind codes” stored in your automatic mind you would have no identity, no values, no memories, no opinions…you would literally be a zombie.

The mind code of your automatic mind running beneath your awareness greatly influences your state of health with many philosophies believing the body is actually a manifestation of mind.

Mental healing takes place in the code of the automatic mind, not at the conscious level.

All behavioral change takes place in this automatic mind because, to put simply, that’s where all the automatic programs that run your human bio-electric machine are operating.

Your relationships, health, happiness, success and every other metric of your life is determined by the quality of the strings of mind code that exist in your automatic mind because we experience about 90% of our lives through this mind, completely on automatic.

Motitations are mind code you strategically implant into your automatic mind using the mental tools of your conscious mind like intention, attention and reflection.

Motitations should be listened to repeatedly and reflected upon until the message is rooted within your programming.

It doesn’t get much easier but it does take some fortitude on your part.

This is beacuse your automatic mind is evolutionarily programmed to prefer sameness and resist change.

You see this first hand every time you try to begin a new habit or stop an old one.

Your conscious mind has to take control and inform the automatic mind of your new intention.

Repeatedly.

Each time this happens the neural pathway expressing this intention becomes a little deeper and through repetition this path becomes a road and then a highway and when this happens you won’t have to think about it anymore, the new programming becomes automatic.

Affirmations are a proven mental tool if used consistently with intention.

However, unlike the “I am” aspect of affirmations, Motitations use repetition to implant philosophy, mental tools and other life-empowering strategies into the automatic mind.

Don’t be put off by the simplicity of the messages in some of the Motitations, remember we are programming the the sub-conscious, not the critical conscious mind.

To think of them as child-like or silly, is completely missing the point.

You should listen to a Motitation until the new neural pathways in your brain are deep enough that you begin to automatically express the behavior, without thinking about it.

Remember, you have to use them REPEATEDLY with INTENTION while REFLECTING on the meaning.

If you do this, I’m certain you will have success with Motitations.
